Bathroom tour.

How have 2 1/2 weeks gone by since my last post?? Yikes! Needless to say...I've been busy! Between a hurt back, a four day trip up to Portland, my busiest time of year at work, book club, meetings, bunco, visiting with friends in town from New Orleans, a weekly bible study, and a scavenger hunt/birthday party at Downtown Disney...my projects and blogging have slacked! My apologies :-)

But today I finally have some pictures of my bathroom! It's a pretty standard space housing a shower, toilet and sink.  I especially love all of the finishes (they were here when I moved in) and the sink to ceiling mirror.

 The one negative is that storage is pretty limited. I have space under the sink, but that holds my cleaning supplies and trash can. I was getting tired of storing my hair supplies on the hutch in my bedroom, so I hung two IKEA spice racks. Now my hair sprays, conditioners, mousse, etc. have a permanent home in the bathroom...where they belong.

 This little shelf came with me from my grandfather's house and it fits perfectly right above the toilet. One of the first tips I remember hearing from Nate Berkus was to "containerize" anything and everything you can!

So I did just that! I have my Tylenol, aspirin and vitamins displayed in little IKEA spice jars, with the bottom of each jar marked with the name of the pill and expiration date. This is definitely my favorite thing about this room! I love how clean it looks and since I don't have a medicine cabinet...it works perfectly!

 I also really love the sink! Surprise, surprise....it's from IKEA, too.   

 So there you have it! My sweet and simple bathroom. As you can see, there is a lack of surface space but that works out being a good thing because it forces me to keep things clean and tidy!

New place update.

I took some new pictures recently that I thought I'd share with all of you! There have been some big changes in the last few weeks...we now have flooring, baseboards, primer, a shower, and a bathroom vanity! So here we go...

Anyhow, the timing is coming along perfectly!! I still can't quite believe it but we accepted an offer on my grandpa's house and are officially in escrow! It was only on the market 3 weeks before the offer came in - at full asking price, too! God never ceases to amaze me!

A new place.

As some of you may know, I've been living in my grandparents house for the past five years while looking after my grandpa. After he passed away last year, I knew that my time in that house was coming to a close since we'd have to sell it. After a year of cleaning it out, fixing things up, and some staging it was officially listed a few weeks ago. I love this house so much and it saddens me to imagine that it won't be in my family much longer. I'm trying to look on the bright side but there's no doubt about it - I'm going to miss this place!

Since I couldn't live in denial of the fact that I would have to move, I figured I'd better start praying about it! And I have been doing so for the last year. In addition to general things like a smooth transition, easy sale of the current house, and for His hand to be in the entire process, I had a few specific items on my list, too!

My housing wish list:

House or guest house

Nice neighborhood

Close to work and church

Close to park or walking trail

Affordable

And would you believe that I found a place that fits EVERY. SINGLE. ITEM. And then some!! I never doubted that God would provide for my basic needs (like a roof) but never imagined He'd give me a place that is so perfect!

So where am I going?? Let me tell you! It's a brand new guest house in a nice neighborhood, minutes to work and church, down the street from a park and fits within my budget! God is good!
