Nursery design.

Last week, I had the pleasure of working on the design of a nursery for my friend Julie. Julie is expecting a baby boy in October and had a few requests.

She wanted it to have a modern fun feel but not be babyish. She wanted modern art incorporated into the room with an end result that looked fun and yet effortless.

She was pretty set on the color palette (found in the wall hook), the rocker (hello...who wouldn't be!!) and the crib but needed help with dresser ideas. My first thought was going with a natural mid century dresser...
But then Julie wanted some more color so I switched out the natural wood dresser for a painted piece and she was uncertain about whether or not the art would be hung in the nursery or the bathroom so I removed it.
And then after a face to face meeting and seeing the space, we finalized the design plan including paint, bedding, art (it's going in there after all), lighting, and some accessories!
I'm absolutely in love with the final aspects of the plan! Everything has been ordered and now it's just a waiting game to put it all together! I can't wait to show you all the finished space :-)
