Easiest headboard ever.

For months, I've been searching DIY blogs on how to make your own headboard. And for months, I've been looking for the right materials. And for months, I came up empty handed. Well yesterday, at my home away from home, I finally found exactly what I've been looking for!!
This may look like a really big frame with really big flowers but to me it was pure gold!! The best part of the project (besides how much it cost!) was it took me less than hour - start to finish! Initially, I was planning on painting the frame and stapling the fabric on the inside so I removed the picture - but once I did that I realize that wasn't going to work so I moved onto Plan B and just wrapped the entire frame with fabric and stapled away. Did I mention how simple this was?? Because it was simple. Like. Really. Simple. And since this was a picture it already had what it needed to hang making it even more so! Picture frame - $19.99
1 yard of fabric - $5.99
Total cost - $25.98
I absolutely adore this and it feels like a whole new bedroom! Love it!!

  2. that is so great!! I've made headboards too using just 2x4's, flat wood (from Home Depot...have to cut it down) and a little bit of batting to add some cushion. Love the idea of using a frame...mmm, I'm going to stay on the look out for some larger frames! The great and easy thing about this is that when you change your bedding you can change your material on the headboard!! Love it!!

    1. I don't have the measurements handy but it's the width of a queen bed...I got really lucky that it was the perfect size I needed :-)

  10. Hi Rachel, Absolutely love your blog & all of your makeovers...you have talent girl! I just moved to a small space, it has one closet which is in the living room...I lack storage BADLY & your ideas on the cheap are amazing & look expensive, stunning, and oh so fun. Thank-you so much for sharing. This headboard is genius, I am on the hunt for a large picture frame & I get to pick my own fabric-YAY-☺ I am also going back to our local thrift stores to search for vintage suitcases-Love those too, small space dream. Do you have any bathroom storage ideas?
May God continue to Bless you...send some my way too!
