Brass lamp makeover.

Hi. My name is Rachel and I'm addicted to lamps. Most recently, I bought these Goodwill early 1990's lamps, before that there was this lamp, my teddy bear lamps, my formerly purple lamp, and what started it all - my tri-pod lamp. I just might have a problem. A very well-lit problem.

So when I saw these brass beauties as my friend Jill and I were out yard sale-ing, I knew I had to have them!
They were only $5 each and were soon primered and painted in my new favorite color, Coral Isle! This stuff seems to be so limited that I feel like it's the gold of spray paint! I found mine at a Joanne's in Buena Park- although that store treats spray paint like it's dynamite! You're not even allowed to carry it through the store while you're shopping. An employer has to unlock the cage and then take the paint directly up to a back counter where you then have to ask your checker for it - it's very strange. And expensive! $6.99 a can...so you should use a coupon :-)
Anyway, I had been craving a pop of coral in my living room ever since I painted this little table for a friend.

Here it is making itself at home on my suitcase table :-)
Has anyone read "Killing Lincoln?" I've only read the first few pages but I'm little obsessed with John Wilkes Booth ever since I saw the musical, "Assassins", so I'm sure I'll love it!

Anyway, I'm loving my coral lamps! There's another one but it's sitting on an unfinished end table at the other end of the couch and it's in the corner and I kept getting crazy shadows in all my pictures, so this one will just have to do!

Until next time!

  1. That is soooo beautiful. I love it. The brass was nice too but wow, the coral is awesome! And the lines of it. You found a deal. Love it!
